Nothing charming about the magic at 666 Park Avenue

There is something sinister brewing at 666 PARK AVENUE thanks to the witching mind of author Gabriella Pierce.  I read this book earlier in the year and loved it. Why I did not do a post earlier in the year is a mystery in and of itself, but now I like to think of it as fate for several reasons.

The first, is that it is October and the month of Halloween.  Always nice to have something in the spirit to feature.

Secondly, news broke that ABC ordered a pilot from Alloy Entertainment adapted from Pierce’s 666 PARK AVENUE,  Couple that with the release of Pierce’s second book in the series THE DARK GLAMOUR, I simply could not hold in my delight.

And last but not least, thanks to William Morrow I have a giveaway* of 666 PARK AVENUE so you can get caught up and ready for the ABC pilot.  There might even be a  spooktacular follow-up giveaway, but you will have to circle with your brooms to find out about that.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves, 666 PARK AVENUE has a striking cover thanks to Amanda Kain.  The cover is pearlized and textured finished with amazing illustrations thanks to Shutterstock.

If that is not enough one of the cover’s illustration elements is carried through the book at the start of each chapter, that attention to detail is much appreciated by this reader.

American born Jane Boyle ahs been living in France with her grandmother following the death of her parents.  Lovely Jane moved to Paris to launch her career as an architect.    Drop dead Malcolm Doran bumps into Jane at an auction and a whirlwind romance follows.  Malcolm proposes to Jane and she accepts, she is head over heels in love with Malcolm.  Before following Malcolm to New York to start her new life as Mrs. Doran, Jane and Malcolm visit her grandmother.  While there Jane finds something left to her by her grandmother and while that will forever change her life, boy oh boy will she need it.

Jane moves to Manhattan and moves in with Dorans.  The Dorans live at 666 PARK AVENUE and if you don’t know this is quite a high brow Upper East Side neighborhood. The Dorans own this mansion and several different branches of the Dorans live there too.  New city, new life, new love, new family, upcoming wedding and a host of secrets and not so fun surprises as the tone quickly changes to something a bit more sinister that is about to get much more wicked.

I never feel right giving too much away so I will stop here.   I just read it again for the second time before I wrote this post, I could not help myself.  666 PARK AVENUE enchants with its strong spell you may not be able to resist, “magic calls to magic”.

If you were a fan of the tv series CHARMED, this is its sinister older sister.  It should come with one warning and that is this book is not suitable for brides to be with any question about their future mother-in-law.

Still not convinced you or your book club should pick up a copy of 666 PARK AVENUE, watch the book trailer,

Now here comes the fun…

  2. This is such a fun review I had to enter. Love the “circle your brooms” reference. Too cute. I’m in the mood for something just a little sinister. Guess it’s that time of year.

Thanks for introducing me to this one!
